Meet the Maker

Hi, my name is Megan and I’m so glad you’re here! I am the maker behind The Little Refinery and I design, create, and package every piece of jewelry from my home studio in Bellingham, WA.

I am a mama, wife, Christian, teacher (on leave since having my baby girl), and an Enneagram 1. When I’m not making, I’m chasing a toddler around, going for walks, listening to audio books, meeting friends for coffee, thrifting, working on a house project for our 1908 home, or decorating for events.

I have always loved creating, and several years ago, in the busyness of life, I forgot to make time for it. I began to crave an outlet to help me feel closer to my Creator and to feel like myself again, so I started making minimal jewelry! I was frustrated after buying jewelry for myself that was supposed to be high-quality but just ended up turning green after a few weeks. I wanted to find a way to make beautiful minimal jewelry that would last for years and didn’t break the bank. I learned about Sterling Silver and Gold-Fill and I haven’t gone back since!

With the encouragement of family and friends, my hobby turned into a business and I started The Little Refinery in 2016! I can’t express how honored I feel every time I get to wrap up something I made and send it to a new home. My hope is that everyone can feel good about their purchases here, knowing that it will last for years, be good to their skin, and also that 10% of the proceeds from your purchase will be donated to make a difference in the lives of refugees and immigrants in Western WA.

I LOVE making, but my absolute favorite part of this business is connecting with customers and makers at local events. It is such an encouragement to put faces to names and be a part of my community by partnering with local events and businesses. Head to the events page if you are local to WA and I truly hope to meet you soon!

Thanks for reading!

<3 Meg
